Clay is exactly what Meguiar's recommends. There is a wealth of information about claying on this forum, but let us know if you need any help.Brian Hann

Clay is the way to go. I just parked near a tree and got mega tree sap on my hood. My first attack against these large droplets of sap was to spray with Speed Detailer to not allow them to set in and get comfortable on my hood. Next step (tonight in fact), I'm breaking out the clay for a clay party.

Indeed, the "Smooth Surface Clay Kit" would be perfect for you. It has already won a couple awards in the industry. It comes with the Clay, Quik Detailer, Supreme Shine Micro Fiber, and a 4oz sample of Cleaner/Wax. Here is the link. The Clay FAQ should be informative as well.
