  • Spray bottle problems

Every bottle of Quick Detailer I've bought in the last year has leaked from the neck even before I've broken the little plastic nub on the actual sprayer.

I should have known by now, but I just put the bottle its side on top of my counter and within a minute it had leaked a puddle about 5 inches across.

The last bottle I bought would drip all over my finger when I tilted it a tiny bit to spray it and so did the bottle before that.

I've probably wasted half a bottle of product on leaks over the last 4 bottles.

    What's wrong with these sprayers?!

I noticed that with a QID sprayer once. I think it only leaked when it was upside-down. i took off the sprayer and then put it back on and now it doesn't leak

      That's something strange?

We go through quite a bit of quick detailers at the garage, both Quik Detailer and Speed Detailer, and we just don't see that problem? I can check to see if their's an unusual incidence rate like you describe being seen through our Customer Care Center, until then give them a call at 1-800-347-5700 and cite this thread and they'll take care of you.

Ive lost a couple ounces of Speed Detailer when using it.... my hand/fingers will normally get saturated by the time Im done with the car. Although Ive never laid my bottle down.

Frustrating to lose product that way.

The bottle I have now seems to leak from the actual spray mechanism and not at the threads where the nozzle screws on.

I took some stuff along with me to work today to help a friend get a scratch out at lunch time and I packed the QD in a separate bag and tied it. I made sure that it could not tip over all the way in the bag. The most it could do is tilt slightly over but not fall over completely and the bag was SOAKED.

Guess I've just been getting a few bad apples for bottles.

did you try unscrewing it and screwing it back on? it does look like its coming from the trigger but this is what the sprayers insides look like

sorry for the poor quality pics

I just noticed with M40 that even when the sprayer is set to off that it still sprays i think that this is very very dangerious!

Same problem report from germany, had a few claims to my wholesaler because different spray bottles (mostly NXT spray wax, all wheel cleaner and NXT glass cleaner) arrived only half full in our stock! Its really incredible: You can shake, turn around and push the leaking bottle and nothing happens and suddenly some leaking comes out of the head area, not from the sprayer head.

Worst thing of the story is, when a spray wax or wheel cleaner leaks empty in a big package of different other meguiars parts, especially towels... My wholesaler is now packing every piece of the mentioned sprays into bags to prevent leaking into other parts in the package...

I have had the same problem twice this year. It ***** when you go use your Quik detail and the new bottle is almost empty.

Second your complaint. If they fall over, out comes the liquid. And if you shake them, out comes the liquid.

                            Re: Spray bottle problems

Just to add to this... I find that I have exactly the same problem with the regular sprayers for the bottles in the Detailer Range. It's particularly bad with my Last Touch, though it may just be that I use that most often, and am much less 'careful' in its application/handling (because it's so mild) and often leave it on its side, and have even occasionally upended it completely - the liquid just about pours out from the neck... (not the thread, as per everyone elses experiences) ...have also noticed a similar thing with All Season Dressing, both with a regular sprayer and with a foaming sprayer.

I just thought it was "one of those things" with spray heads

                              Re: Spray bottle problems

The meguiars spray bottle that I use for my All Season dressing Leaks bad out of the sprayer itself. I put it in my detailing box at an angle and I lose alot. Probably lose more then I use.
