  • Getting a G100A - What else?

Ive finaly desided on getting a G100A and i was thinking about buying the whole NXT generation package since it looks like great value for money.

I have to pay alot to get this shipped so i thought i should buy everything i need and lots of it at once. So my question is then this. What should i buy besides this?

I mean should i buy the "pro" series of polish, wash, shine and so on?

My car is black and its a honda civic (nighthawk black pearl). Its a black paint with blue metallic in it (dark blue). It chips really fast so i was also thinking about getting scratchX. The car is only 2 years old.

So i guess i need a few suggestions for the main products i need for detailing the car exterior wise. Been trying to read up a bit also and im still reading. Just thought it would be wise to ask just in case. Ive read alot about #7, #82 and #84.

    Thanks in advance.

i don't think #84 will do much for you on a DA
and #82 is very mild but i can be used after #83 but usually you can just use #80 after #7 is an amazing product

i think that the NXT package inculdes everything else you need including wash solution, wash mits/brushes , clay and wax

Good thing youve mentioned the clay, dont think i can find one in the package.

So it seems i should get the nxt pack, the clay, #80 and #7. But what about polish?

Also whats the difference between the big bottles with only numbers on them and the smaller ones with regular names?

I was thinking perhaps there is a was in one of those big bottles i should be getting to save shipping later on. Since i dont have much experience in detailing i dont exactly know what i should be getting alot of and what not.

      Thanks btw.

        On the topic of polish...

Both M80 and M07 are polishes, in Meguiar's terminology.

M80 does contain a small amount of diminishing abrasives. It will do some minor paint cleaning and correction when run with the G100.

M07 is a pure polish; meaning, it has no abrasives. It is a product that simply adds another layer of gloss. This is not required after using M80, but many do find they like the added layer of depth, especially on darker colors such as yours.

        Additionally...

The strongest product Meguiar's recommends for use with the G100 is M83, Dual Action Cleaner Polish. This is the next step up from M80 in measure of its aggressiveness, so it will do a bit more paint correction than M80.

Love the input, thanks alot. There are alot of great stuff to read on this forum, but some times it just becomes to much. Just cant decide.

Btw, the G100. Is it only usable on 110V or can it be adjusted in any way? Or do meguiars in the us sell a 220V version?

Finally. The car has some minor stone chipping, not many can see it but i do and i hate them. Is scratch x, clay and polish the way to handle it or should i use something else when using a machine? Theres also two bigger scratches wich i have no clue on how got there. It seems like someone scratched in a circular way but only got about 15 degrees around before stopping. Its only in the paint so im hoping to get this fixed also. At the thickest its perhaps about 1,5-2mm. Most likely i will post pictures to be absolutly sure before i do anything.

If you do a search on the forum for 220V, I think you'll find several threads that address this issue. I know we have many members from outside the US where the voltage is an issue.
