  • Other Products: Wax-Cleaners or whatever

I wanted a place to post about other products that you might have questions about.
But remember Rule #4: No bashing any company or their products.
I just want a place to talk about other stuff we come across.

Re: Other Products: Wax-Cleaners or whatever

So I came across this site looking for car shows.
    SO Cal Jax Wax
looks like their out of the Inland Empire in Ca.
    Any one seen/tried this stuff?

I found this on there site and it scarred me

"Jax Wax Liquid Carnauba Paste Wax is not like any other wax you have ever used. Easy to apply, it changes all the rules for not only applying wax, but how it performs. Application on and off an average "full size" vehicle only takes about "30 Minutes"!! Ever been distracted for a moment during the traditional wax process? You know the frustration and the pain of removing that traditional paste wax. Jax Wax Liquid Carnauba Paste Wax is completely different! Break all the "Waxing Rules"! Wax the whole car at once! Wax the windows and the chrome! Wax it today, take it off tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. Wax on any color paint, wax when it's cool, wax when it's hot! Wax your Black car in the "DIRECT SUNLIGHT"!! The wax comes off with ease!! Jax wax Liquid Carnauba Paste Wax is unmatched in the industry!! Nothing else even comes close!!

    In a word, "AWESOME"!!"

My question is. Who would want to drive around for a day, week, month with dried wax on there car?

I've been eyeing the Mothers Carnuba wax (not the carnuba cleaner wax) if anyone has tried it. But I have a ton of wax and don't really need anymore, at least I would have to smuggle it home from work or something.....

These are my non biased opinions and what I personally experienced over the past 18 years.

My 1st car wax I used on a car was Mothers Original Carnuba Wax in the large can.
Very nice scent and easy to apply. Downside was it powderd like mad and can be a bear to remove. Overall quality was very good.

Others I have tried: Menzerna FMJ (great durability and shine but a bit pricey) Zaino (very high shine with a plasticy look) Pinnacle Souveran (great shine, last 3 weeks in the hot summer heat, too expensive for what I get in return) Meguiars NXT 2.0 (excellent value, super easy to apply and remove if you follow the instruction and use good technique, good to use in the hot sun, this will be my go to wax once I use up all my other wax).

I was afraid of that, Meguiar's waxes never seem to dust hardly if at all. I think I have to use up my stash before I get the go from the wifey anyways "you need WHAT!" LOL. She's a pretty good sport though!

I do like the smell of it and maybe they improved it. It's rather pricey though and that can is huge!

I've used the SRP and Extra Gloss, Bumper and Trim gel and glass polish. All worked well. Down sides are that the bottles seemed flimsy and ill-balanced to me, as well as being fairly expensive here. (Obviously they should be more reasonably priced in your neck of the woods.)

Reminds me of the TurtleWax Ice Liquid Claybar. Before I joined this site I bought the liquid claybar and was extremely disappointed in the results. I had to have my car properly clayed and detailed (before I got into DIY detailing) just to remove the residue. Yesterday, at Pep Boys, they had the whole inventory of TWI liquid claybars up for clearance sale.

IMO, shortcut products are for the mass consumer market and fall way short of expectation. I enjoy the process of washing and detailing my car (cheap therapy!!!) so even if the shortcut products work, I probably wouldn't use them.
