  • Splotchy Faded engine hoses

    2011 LS3 Corvette

Some of the engine hoses have sporadic grayish splotches. I show the car and seek a uniform black color. Dressings do not help. I think need to deep clean the hoses first and THEN dress them topically. Any suggestions on what products to use?

Hmm, would recommend trying our M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner, but honestly not sure if it is going to take away that look or not, unfortunately. Using along with a medium bristled nylon brush would be recommended. Then follow with a water based dressing.

Follow up - I tried the M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner - I sprayed it on then used a stiff brush to agitate the surface of the hose. It cleaned right down to bare rubber surprisingly easily. Then I dressed the hoses with a dressing and now they look better than new. Thanks for your help!

Happy to hear that! Not sure why I did not mention last time, but our M40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner is a great option for a water based conditioner! Does not have near the cleaning ability as #39, which you likely needed, but anyways happy to hear!
