  • Process with multiple Mcguiar’s products

Am I using the various Mcguiar’s products correctly?

Once a year I sort of “start over” with my car’s protection. I wash the car first with a car wash that strips what’s on the car. I then wash with Mcguiar’s Gold Class car wash. I clay bar if necessary and rewash.

If there is a need for Mcguiar’s Ultimate Compound for corrections, I do that. I call this the “starting point.”

From the starting point, I put a layer of Mcguiar’s Ultimate Polish.

Then I use the Mcguiar’s Hybird Ceramic Wax.

    Last I use Mcguiar’s M27 sealant.

My 2018 Mustang GT convertible (Royal Crimson) looks fantastic after these steps - which takes me several days to complete.

Question Home - Are these combination of products in their respective order appropriate?

Question#2 - What do I do and what product(s) are recommended after my annual “start over” process? In other words, after a few months can I (should I) apply a top coat of Mcguiar’s Ceramic Wax, and if so, should I also apply another coat of Mcguiar’s M27 Sealant?

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I would (I actually am) using M27 as my base. I wash with Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax, and maintain with a choice of Hybrid Ceramic Wax (blue bottle), M799, Ceramic Detailer, or another coat of M27 the odd time. I use the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax (yellow bottle) on rims, trim, and other stuff.
I think Ultimate Compound as a first step to start fresh is good. The polish is another..... but someone else can weigh in here.... I thought Ultimate polish had polishing oils in it?? And M27 wants a very bare surface for best performance. I would use a surface prep before laying the M27 (or other chioce) reguardless.
