Hi I hope I'm not double posting but I just bought some DUB metal polish for some used chrome rims I bought it doesn't seem to really be helping any plus the microfiber towel I'm using for application is always black am I doing something wrong or just being impatient?

So the microfiber towel is turning black as you are applying the metal polish? Chrome wheels typically don't do that. Polished aluminum wheels do that.
Are you sure it's not just dirt? Also did you do any prep work such as soap and water or a wheel cleaner to remove a ny brake dust?

Yea the towel turns black wherever I apply the polish I cleaned the rim with some glass cleaner just to test the polish it's a wheel on the back with drum brakes so no brake dust but I notice also the more I polish it has a tarnished/copper look the area I'm trying to polish am I doing something wrong? Or are the rims not really chrome? I don't know how long they sat up before I bought them I hope I'm not messing them up

You should not be seeing an black residue with chrome. It sounds like they are not in great shape and if you're seeing copper that is definitely not good. Almost as I the chrome is failing. Any other photos you could post?
