removing day old water spots w/ wash & wax anywhere?
removing day old water spots w/ wash & wax anywhere?
My car was wet by sprinklers last night and now i have water spots i was wondering if simply washing the car using meguiars wash & wax anywhere would get rid of them?
Re: removing day old water spots w/ wash & wax anywhere?
It should work pretty well. Ive used it with great success.
OF course it depends on how much water was left on the car, how intense your mineral deposits are, and the condition of the wax or sealant you have on the finish.

It would be a good place to start.
Water spots can vary greatly in severity and can require anything from a QD to compounding to wet sanding.
But yeah, start with UWWA and see how that goes. Since they are only a day old, you should be ok.

I own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
In cases like this I've often wondered if using vinyger would do the trick.
Comments anyone?
Since Vinegar is a seemingly middle of the road acid, 3 on the ph scale, i would avoid using it on any painted surface. That being said it has been tried on glass to remove hard water etching but the results wont be what you want to achieve i think. It works for mild spots, but greatly struggles with heavy deposits.
The also vinegar has no lubricity in is, as the UWWA does, so when removing anything from the paints surface there is no encapsulation of dirt particles by a liquid which helps to avoid scratching.
