Not too bad at all for hand polishing!

Hey all,

I did a test spot on a black civic hood I had in my garage, it's swirled and scratched pretty badly . Here we go !



So basically my steps were:
1) cleansed the spot with APC
2) Clayed
3) Taped off a square and clean paint with dc1 paint cleaner
4) polish with ultimate compound and a micro fiber pad by hand ( a lot of effort )
5) polish with swirl remover 2.0 and foam pad by hand
6) cleansed with apc again to make sure the swirls didn't just get filled
7) 3 coats of nxt too finish












The swirls are gone but there were some deeper scratches that I just couldn't get out

Yup, I had a similiar, experience my first time by hand. Sure takes a long time from start to finish an entire car by hand.

That is a fantastic result working by hand! Yes, it's a ton of work to hand correct and entire car, but it can be done. Your test spot proves that.... but are your arms up to the task????

Im starting to corret my cars paint by hand, I will tell ya.....we will have to put our arms resistance to the test!!!

Wow! Amazing job, especially since it was done by hand. Is that some red I see in the hood?
