My good friend has a black RX8 and it has many swirl marks on it . He left the car sitting for a good time while he was over seas and when he came back the car saw alot of gas station drive through washes. I want to clean up the paint for him, so how do I prepare the paint for the Swirl X and Ultimate compound? Do I use the cleaner wax first and then proceed with the Swirl X and Ultimate Compound? What about after the Compound do I use the polish and wax ? Any information is greatly appreciated . Thanks!

Re: How do I prep for Swirl remover ?
1. Wash
2. Clay (if needed)
3. Clean
4. Polish
5. Protect (Wax)
6. Maintain
Ultimate Compound is an aggressive paint cleaner. It offers the highest level of correction ability in Meguiar's Consumer Line.
SwirlX is a cleaner polish, less aggressive than Ultimate Compound, but still capable of below surface defect removal (swirls, water spots, oxidation).
Cleaner waxes offer all in one option (clean, polish and protect in one step). They are less aggressive than SwirlX (except D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream). After cleaner wax application you can only add more protection by using finishing (pure) wax.
For swirl removal you could start with SwirlX and do a test spot. If SwirlX is not strong enough Ultimate Compound would be your next choice. It all depends on your paint hardness/ softness.
Will you work by hand or use a machine?

Clay first and do a test spot of swirlx and one of UC. Im sure UC will fit the bill. After that you can use a polish if you want or go straight to a wax.Practice doesn't make perfect, the dedication to achieve perfection makes perfect. "Smack"
