    Hi Cristian welcome to MOL.

So... it appears that you are working by hand on a relatively new vehicle with just a few scratches. Ultimate Compound is likely a good choice for removing the scratches by hand, but you may be able to use something less aggressive thought like ScratchX. You can post pictures of your scratches if you'd like and we can give you an idea on what is needed.

Now you said you want your car to shine. What color is it? Typically polishes are reserved for darker colors ie. red, black, blue etc. With lighter colors most people just jump straight to a wax like NXT Tech Wax 2.0.

Ultimate Quik Wax is designed to be used in between waxings. It is designed to allow you to top up the existing base wax that was initially applied. It allows you to go longer between waxings. It's also great protection for hard to get at areas like door jams etc.

So to simplify... you are on the right path, but you should purchase some NXT Tech Wax 2.0. You might want to consider claying your vehicle as well. NXT Tech Wax 2.0 comes with a foam applicator.

      1. Wash
      2. Clay
      3. Clean - SwirlX, UC as needed
      4. Wax - Nxt 2.0
      5. Wax - Nxt 2.0
      6. Maintain - UQW after future washes.

IMHO uqw is a in between wax product. More of a booster then to be used as a regular wax. Follow Murr's plan of attack and you will be all right.

Tank you so much for your answers...you are quick
i took some picture and i checked again the scratches ,some of then are deep some are light..the car wasnt brand new when i both it so it has some bad scratches on the back bumper covered with paint...
The bad thing i don't have a garage where to do all this operations,i have to work outside on a drive..
So in my opinion UC was good to do this job but..maybe after you will see the pictures u can tell if i am wrong or not...

And what about the pad i have to use ...are *off brand microfiber applicator pads ok to aply the compound????

The scratches in photo #1 look like they are from an automated car wash. The 3 major ones might not come out. If you can feel them with your fingernail don't attempt to remove them completely. You can however reduce them while attempting to remove the surrounding scratches.

Photo #2 Unfortunately the damage is right through the paint. Either leave it alone, or sand, prime and repaint. Your call.

Photo #3 is a the same as photo # 1 but taken from further back. Same thing applies for the smaller vertical scratches. If you can feel them with your fingernail then your best bet is minor reduction.

If these shots represent the worst damage, your in pretty good shape except for the area that was touched up, that area must be repainted. You might want to consider doing it yourself. Canadian Tire should have some Duplicolor paint for your car.

Good luck, keep us posted on your progress.

I'm from the south shore of montreal, basicly, if you are looking for g110 pads, (megs pad) you wont find them anywhere. You'll have to order them from the internet. I stongly recommend www.detailingdepot.ca
It is Bills Davidson's website, he always have great prices and always care about his customers!

If you don't have a G110, you should consider buying one! it is a great tool to use with about every Megs product. www.detailingdepot.ca will also be a good place to get it from. Maybe you will find it cheaper in the states, but you'll have to pay the border fees.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them!

Re: What to use after Ultimate Compound... polish or a wax??

I've used UC and didn't have to follow it with anything and I've used it on a Porsche and had to follow up with a lesser aggressive polish. I've also gotten some hellacious scratches out, but with ScratchX 2.0. This is from a trash can that got dragged along the side of my Opel Astra.
                    Check this out:

I used ScratchX 2.0 to get rid of this one (by hand, incidentally). Here's the afters:

I didn't need to use anything after that, so you might be good to go using ScratchX 2.0 and then just waxing afterwards on the scratches you have. On the other hand, on my Porsche hood the ScratchX 2.0 left hazing after using it (by hand!), so I had to use SwirlX (on a DA) afterwards to correct it. The paint on the hood is very soft, so I have to be very careful.

UC on the Porsche hood also leaves a bit of hazing. I had to use UC to get rid of water spots, but followed up with SwirlX (again with DA for both polishes) and then wax and everything was fine. You may need to follow UC with something less aggressive if you have a softer paint like I do. But you may not - on my Opel Astra, I don't have to do that. So just give it a shot, but keep some other products on hand in case you have to do more than one-stage correction. And always remember - have fun!

you were right about that scratches... didnt go out 100% but i have an impruvement..while i worked on my car this weekend i found more scratches and rock cips....i used the UC on all my car and what can i say ...its a great product....and i did the job manualy..so with a machine i think its amazing what this stuf can do.. ,the paint got that new shiny ,fixed some minor scratches and i tried the UC on my headlights too...it was relly cool..it cleaned alll the dirty...
After UC i used that wax 2.0 but i think i dint let it to dry enuf before buffing..annyway at the the end i was impressed my car was relly shinny ,didnt take pictures but i will next weekend when i will clean the interior.
PS: It was my first time when i used wax on my car and this morning i saw its allredy covered by dust, but more then usual ...i think because the stiky wax...my question is: i have to wash it and then use the UQW ???or just spray the UQW and buff???
                      Thank you all

Really nice job working by hand.
Personally I think working by hand should be part of the Meguiar's training regime. The G110v2 Dual Action Polisher is a great product. You're now ready to graduate
