  • no 26 vs new gold class with carnauba

I just bought some ultimate compound and let me tell you that by hand I feel confident that I can remove almost any scratch I have.(2008 BLACK COBALT SS).I had some very stubborn scratches along the rear decvk and the top of the bumper and a few passes by hand worked magic on these areas and now I was wondering better to top with in this hot humid summer here in NJ no26 or the new gold class?Which has better durability for the summer

From my experience, they both have the same durability. I can get about 2 months out of either. If you're only using one kind fo wax then I suggest Gold Class Carnauba Plus. It has polishing oils which really bring out the depth of the finish. If you have ever used NXT 2.0, the comparison is that NXT is shinier and more reflective while Gold Class Plus deepens more and "warms" the color more (less mirror-like).

I haven't tried NXT but used 3 bottles of #26 in the last couple of years.

All I can say is #26 is a brilliant product and last (in my case) about 3-months. There is no snow or extreme cold here in Australia and my car is always garaged.

      Hope this helps.

Well according to the hotline, Gold Class Carnuaba + is superior to #26

In some aspects or in certain situations it very well may be. However, in other situations M26 may be preferred. It is really dependent on the job at hand.

For example, M07 and M26 is an awesome combo still used by many detailers. GC+ may not work as well in this situation.

Am I correct that #26 has no cleaners, so you could top it on NXT without too much worry of it removing the NXT?

            Thanks.

That is correct. However, make sure you give the NXT a proper cure time after wipe-off. I like to wait 12-24 hours between coats.

The new Gold Class Liquid Wax would be expected to ourperform M26 on durability.

Lookswise it depends on whether M26 is used over M07. If it is, M26 should look a a bit deeper, otherwise Gold Class looks better if compared to M26 alone.

I don't think Gold Class has cleaners in it either, just polish.

If I'm wrong, please correct me, but I confirmed this here before.

GC+ has extremely mild cleaners; enough to remove the slightest towel marks, the ones you can only see when you are standing at exactly the right angle in extremely bright sun and even then it is hardly noticable. It is not enough to be called a cleaner/wax though.

It more likely to fill them in than remove them.

I personally prefer GC+ over NXT. I found it easier to remove, it smelled better, and was a yellowish color. I would recommend you use it over M26, which is great, but GC+ has the new hydrophobic tech. and will last longer.

I do not think Gold Class Carnuaba Plus Liquid Wax has Hydrophobic Polymer Technology.

NXT 2.0 will last longer than GC.

Yes, NXT is Meg's longest lasting wax, but I still bet that GC+ will last longer than M26. GC+ has some type of water resistant technology, but I researched it and I couldn't find if it actually was the Hydrophobic...

I was under the impression that Gold Class wax had some chemical cleaners only.
