okay so my front driver side caliper on my 07 WRX started pinching a few weeks ago and very quickly wore through the pad and rotor break material (full time engineering student with no time or money and no other ride.
I stopped driving on it as quickly as I could get an alternative method of transportation worked out (just started walking....6-12 miles per day round trip for school...ughhh)
I ordered new breaks and they took a good two weeks to get to me and they are now installed.
Anyway, long story short:
There is rust dust deposited ALL OVER my car(mainly driverside/trunk). Its essentially like break dust except turned into rust from driving on a beat rotor/pads and a pinching caliper(i don't want to hear it please. i know i fail)
Anyway I need to find a way to get it off without destroying my paint. Its caked on my enkie aswell but I'm less worried about that than my body.
Any ideas CC&D?? I went to a flagship (self wash place) and did high pressure soap/water wash and it didn't do anything at all except got some of the caked rust on the rim to chip off.
Please help!!!
I'm thinking about trying a claybar and if that fails then a polish...I'm just really trying to get it off without rubbing it into my paint and having abraision marks all over
