Are the meg Chamois good for drying after a wash without making swirls, or are cloths better?

Re: Drying after wash.. Chamois ?
I use both. One pass with Chamois and it removes lots of water and then the Water Magnet for the perfect finish.
I usually use this combo when doing other peoples car, since most of the time these cars are neglected. I think for a well kept car a water magnet is more than enough (if it's not a big SUV or something like that)

But I am considering getting one chamois to see how well it works too..2011 Infiniti G37S 6MT

Re: Drying after wash.. Chamois ?
I like the blot method with a chamois and then a little spritz of a QD and a final wipe to clear up any last residue of moisture. The key to the chamois is to soak it well and wring it out. Immerse in water regularly and wring out during the drying process.
I also use a drying towel (from Duragloss, as it happens) and like that a lot in colder weather when the air moisture is high - often I simply cannot dry the car with a chamois in that kind of weather. I'm in the wet and rainy UK!

Before the invention of Microfiber Chamois were all that I used.
I bought an electric leaf blower dedicated for removing the excess water from the cars finish after washing. This works great and I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned it. Once this is complete I open the doors, trunk, and hood using a Microfiber towel to dry those areas.BobbyG

Re: Drying after wash.. Chamois ?
I had a Black Pontiac G6 GT that I used a chamois on. That was the last time I reached for the chamois ever again. Perhaps I should have blotted with the chamois instead of wiping with it, or maybe it wasn't wet enough to keep it gliding across the finish. It left behind a slew of fine, fine scratches. It took a whole day of detailing to get the marks out.
I prefer the water magnets. I don't have Meguiar's brand, but I have the same waffle pattern microfiber towels. Those are the only drying "devices" that will ever touch my Civic.
