  • Sick in tired of water spots on windows

My car is clean but the one thing that ive been having trouble with is water spots.Ive used all sorts of glass cleaners and looking for the one thing that will remove them.It just looks horrible but i am lucky and its not on my windshield. Also when i bought this car and was testing it out i used the rear windshield wiper.Turned out that the wiper insert was falling off and the wiper assembly scratched the window.I cant feel it with my nails but im not sure on how to get it out.I do have some scratch x but not sure if i want to try on the window.Any help is appreciated

As far as the rear window where you can feel the scratches, you would need to buy a glass polishing kit or have somebody do it. Even at that though, you might not get them out if they're that deep.

For the waterspots on the windows try Heavy Cut Cleaner (#4) and a terry towel.

I have used #4 often to remove water spots. There was only one time that #4 failed me. For that I followed up with #105 and applied with a terry towel. Good luck.

I've used white vinegar, that worked great

You can also try chrome polish to remove water spots from glass.

Chrome polish may indeed help for these, it's even mentioned on some bottles.

The secret to avoid water spots and have easy to clean glass is to clean it often.

Plus, apply some UQW when they are clean!

When I Buff I always slide over the glass it acts like Rain X and the water just sheets off.

I did a Police once and the officers all loved it, They would stop by with there personal cars just to get the glass buffed. I used # 2 and a wool pad lightly.

I have had success with a standard paint compound, and 0000 steel wool combo. Be sure to try it in the corner first, just in case it works too well and mars the glass.

hmm i guess every area will be different as some have different water makeup but I found a coat of wax helps and drying the window well with a MF right after a wash.

Yes Frank. I run over with the buffer and wool pad. The results are second to none.

As far as the scratches go,to the original question. Auto polishes will not remove scratches from glass surfaces. Only glass polishing kits will do this as mentioned earlier.

put rain clear rain repellant gel immediately after cleaning the glasses. it makes maintenance easier plus its nicer to drive in the rain with it.
