  • Really Working by Hand

I'm fairly sure I read a thread about this elsewhere, but I figure I'll get some input here.

Has anyone here gotten any good results from applying wax by hand, as in with the surface of your hand. Of course, one would have to thoroughly wash their hands before doing this, and it may make a bit more sense with a paste wax. The only real plus I can see for it is that if any grit were to get between your hand and the surface of your paint you would feel it before any damage would take place. Unfortunately, you may not get as even a coat of wax as you would with a foam applicator or a DA.

I think I shall give it a try tomorrow and buff it off with an orbital.

I tried it once and didn't care for it. I get better results using an app pad.

Maybe better results using your butt? Seriously I don't see the point, it seems like some fad created by the kind of people that will sell a product way over any realistic price range to "complete" the shtick.

+1 for useing the app pad much easier.

I have used a product called Dodo juice purple haze I was told that it would be better applying it by hand for me it took longer/no difference plus the fact next door neighbours fought there was something wrong with me feeling up the car!

I got fed up after 1/4 of my trunk. I went with the MF applicator instead, much better.

Hi Calais,I've seen this done before.Apparently, your hands are at the correct temperature for applying carnauba wax. It doesn't really impress me much,so I'm happy with the applicators.

I did it a couple of times with Zymol. It's pretty hard to get an even, thin coat with your hands.
