  • ColorX/NXT 2.0 or 205/NXT 2.0 ??????

I really want to use M#205 (or SwirlX) by hand. I heard great things about this product here on the forums. I've been using ColorX the my LSP is NXT 2.0 by hand for years now.

My question is, can I use #205 (or SwirlX) to replace ColorX as my step one? I ask because ColorX is a cleaner/wax. will #205 (or SwirlX) do the same thing?

I love prepping my paint up with ColorX then topping it off with NXT 2.0 by hand.

    please help.

    1. ColorX
    2. NXT 2.0

    or

    1. #205 (or SwirlX)
    2. NXT 2.0

You could give M205 or SwirlX a try, are you trying to remove swirls?

if so, SwirlX would work the best.

If not, you could go with either ColorX or M205 then NXT 2.0.

SwirlX being made for hand use would probably be a little better.

You would just want to add a second coat of Nxt 2.0, so you get the recomended 2 coats of wax.

You can always do SwirlX/M205 --> ColorX ---> NXT 2.0

That is obviously more work, but definitely still an option if you really like the way your ColorX/NXT 2.0 looks.

Otherwise, yes, you can do from SwirlX/M205 --> NXT 2.0 and be just fine.

I have just started to experiment with all these new products and my take is that #205 finishes off a little darker then swirl-X as it appears to me this product has a good amount of feeding oils in it and swirl-X seems to be a touch more agressive then #205 and perhaps a little more user friendly. If you had to compare these products with color-x I'd have to say swirl-X will definitely be more effective at correcting defects yet lacks the oils (I'm not 100% sure about this, but it appears it's a straight cleaner, and not a cleaner polish), and #205 will be closer to the level of aggressiveness of color-x and also give you the feeding oils like color-X has
