Today I detailed the outside of my 06 civic. Their were some big scratches so I used scratchX 2.0, deep crystal polish, followed by NXT 2.0 (In that order) It now seems that there are a lot of really small scratches. Next weekend I am detailing a friends Volvo. Would I be better off using Ultimate Compound followed be NXT 2.0. Also, as a finished product how would that look compared to the deep crystal system steps 1, 2, and 3.

You should do a test spot, and if all of the scratches are not gone, then you should either do a second coat or try a more aggressive compound. From least to most aggressive ScratchX 2.0, SwirlX, Ultimate Compound.Last edited by Carfire; May 3, 2009, 07:27 AM.Joel

Ultimate Compound and SwirlX is a great product to use by hand. Tim Lingor did a Volvo and the clear coat was very hard!
Our Neon CC is very hard and UC and SwirlX worked great by hand.
Always do a test spot and start with least aggressive first!

on your test spot do one with the scratch-x 2.0. Inspect the results. If you need more correction try the swirl-x. Check results. Then if the defects are still present try the ultimate compound.
Polish would be a optional step between the paint correction and your lsp.
You can apply the products for correction eithewr way. Whatever you feel the most comfortable doing. Make sure either way you are applying even pressure.
Do not forget to do your test spots first.quality creates its own demand
