That's a great thread and goes to show that D151 can be used by hand. Just to clarify though, D151 gives the most defect removal when used with a Rotary Buffer or DA Polisher.

Just order some M105 and D151. Plan to use them by hand. I am not going to aspect i can achieve the result as those use them with rotary/DA. Anyone can chip in the proper way to get the best result by hand apply? Mike?

Depends upon what you're trying to do.

For light cleaning apply gently with a soft applicator pad.

For more cleaning power, apply a more wet application and work the product with a little more passion. If one application makes the paint look better but not to where you want it to be then apply a second application.

Always allow the film you leave behind to dry as this is a wax and Meguiar's waxes are designed to dry before removing.

          What are you working on?

Thanks Mike. I do try to eliminate all the swirl and paint imperfection as much as possible with hand application. Is this possible by using M105 and D151? Beside the suggestion and method you mention above, is there are anymore detail on the hand application of the M105 and D151?

Michaels, hope that you will get a great result and don't forget to post them up.

I just use the M105 and D151 combo by hand for the little areas under the door handles that always get marked up. M105 got rid of the defects right away (didn't try D151 alone), then followed with D151. I used a round microfiber applicator.

I do plan to work the M105 and D151 whole by hand alone. I just want to find the correct and best way that will bring me the best result. Aerocleanse, for the area under the handle, i do use ScratchX to clean up those minor scratch. One application of ScratchX do give me a very good result.

For paint in good shape you can apply and work gently but thoroughly over the finish.

For paint in bad shape shrink the size of your work area down, use a more wet application of product. Overlap your sections.

Either way, allow the product to dry before removing.

I have M105 and D151 around, so that's what I used, to great success I might add.
