  • Awesome New Purchase "Werner 225-Pound Capacity Work Platform" at Home Depot

Just wanted to let everyone know about a purchase I just recently made at Home Depot. It was $43.00.
It's been rough buffing the roofs of SUV's and Trucks. I have only had a small step ladder up to this point and I have almost killed myself plenty of times. It may not be tall enough to do very high lifted vehicles, but this thing is nice because it allows you to walk along it as you work. It is also lightweight for easy carrying. It seems very sturdy and it has made my last detail a lot easier and safer.

    Has anyone else used it?

I highly recommend getting some grip tape for it while you are there also. I went back to get some because it does get kind of "slippery when wet."

I have one. Had to get one after seeing it at Meguiars in Irvine during several TNOG's. I bought one from Home Depot last August when they were on sale for $22. Even though I don't need it for polishing the roof of my sedan, I figured I might need it at some point for larger vehicles.

I also use it as a platform for my polishers, pads, and chemicals.

I have one and love it. As ClearlyCoated pointed out, it is great for setting polish and buffers on while working. It's like a mini portable work bench + step stool.

Just watch those slide lock hinges when collapsing the bench. If the Brinkmann Xenon Flashlight can be called the swirl-finder, then the Werner Work Platform can be nicknamed the "Fingernator"

How true. But they are great for doing larger vehicles. One of the better accessories I have bought. I use mine a lot.

At Christmas the wife uses it to decorate the upper part of the tree.

I got one at Lowe's for $22 the day after Thanksgiving last year. Still in the wrapper.

                    LOL!

Thanks, Jonnyboy, because I have been wanting to post the question how you do the top of vans, trucks, suvs, etc. May I ask how tall this is? I'm about 5' 5".

Unfolded, it stands about 21" tall. About the same height as one of those small 2-step ladders. The exact dimensions are on the link to the Werner site. It is perfect for vehicles like explorers, tahoes, expeditions etc. It works great! It's also nice because you can wash or polish a lot more area without having to constantly move a ladder. Make sure you do get some grip tape from the paint dept. because it is slippery when wet. Jonathan

I can see maybe if you dropped the "Meguiar's" name, but if you dropped mine one might think they'd rush you out the back door. And not in a friendly way, you understand.

Thanks, that sounds great! All I had was a 1-step step ladder, which was way too small. I'll join people in watching for the sales!

I have an older Werner work platform, it's larger (60"L x 21"W x 201/2"H) and has a solid top with a 500lb capacity. I was going to post a link from the Werner site, but it looks like they don't make it anymore.

Anyway, I was just going to say that I've used it for all kinds of stuff and would recommend getting one to anyone who does things around the house. Of course, great for getting to the top of larger vehicles when detailing.
