  • Removing Painted Pin Stripes

Here's a quick and easy method I used to remove the painted pin stripes (on top of the clear coat) from my car. I used my rotary tool, a felt polishing wheel, and Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #2 Fine Cut Cleaner. Put a generous line of compound on the pin stripe, set the rotary tool to its lowest setting, do NOT apply too much pressure, and gently work the felt wheel back and forth across the pin stripe at a 45 degree angle to the pin stripe. Keep the felt wheel perpendicular to the car body and keep the work surface wet with compound. You will find this method much faster than using a rag and your finger, yet it won't damage the clear coat. Remember to wear your safety glasses because the compound will tend to get slung off the felt wheel.

Here's video of the process: www youtube.com/watch?v=LuNiEAqwsYI

    Enjoy!

    Thanks for sharing Brian.

Just so you know I broke the link because new members need to reach 30 posts before posting clink-able links.

    Thanks!
