    Any tips for vacuuming?
I have a real problem with black carpet!
So what kinda "secret tools" do you use?
    Any special techniques?
I use a "Duster/brush attached to each other, a small brush and a damp towel for scuffs and general wipe down.

You talking like carpet only? I just use a crevice attachment and **** up what can first, when helping Nick before I used the DA carpet attachment from ADS and it really loosend everything up and brought up what the vaccum missed the first time. Or if you have an air compressor maybe you could try that to get big things loose? Not sure lol

Crevice tool and an interior brush. Get up all the loose stuff, brush the carpet and vac again. Works good for me.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Using a brush to get all the dirt loose is a big help. I think it makes a huge difference.

Anyone have any tips on vacuuming pet fur?

I don't let any cats in my cat but it comes off of my shirts and it's hard to remove in the carpet...

Pull off the attachments and just use the hose part to vacuum. Or use a lint brush while you're vacuuming.

Use the crevis tool, and make swift back and forth motions. Barely grazing the top if the carpet fibers. This works with pet hair, and just a basic vacuum. It also helps to have a powerful vacuum motor.

                    Re: Vacuum tips?

I have a 3.5 HP shop vac; that is plenty to remove dirt, dusk and shampoo. The real issue is the size of the opening. If you use a crevice tool with a very small opening, 3.5 hp is plenty.

I have a 3 HP / 6 Gallon Shop Vac and I do not think it removes shampoo that well from carpeting. I may have been expecting more.
