At my Fire Department we have The Blue Stuff with pumice gel beads. Works like a charm!!

I use the stuff with the sand in it.It doesn't bother me,and works well. If i do the dressing on the tyres though,i wear one surgical glove for holding the sponge.

....preventing them from getting dirty is easier (and better for your skin) than trying to clean them up effectively afterwards...just like anything else.
