  • Using GC Leather Cleaner (gel)

When detailing the leather interior of my sister-in-law's Buick, I found the recommended method of using a terry cloth wasn't working so well. The cloth absorbed too much product and the nap got plastered down after only a minute or so diminishing the aggressiveness significantly.

My solution was to get a small, medium-stiff bristled brush. The bristles absorbed NO product, minimizing waste, too it was able to work the product into tight seams near stitching and textured areas. The brush added a bit of scrubbing power to the emulsifying effect of the cleaner giving me great results. The GC Leather treatment was applied with a small rectangular kitchen sponge.

        Don,
OMG, you removed the dye from the leather seat. Just kidding, great work on some disgusting looking seats. I have been using a finger nail brush on heavily soiled leather for sometime and get great results.

        Sneek,
I think Don used the following two products.

        Cleaner
Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner

        Conditioner
Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner

Those are the ones Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, but my email notifications aren't working (for ANY of my message boards??)

Here is the brush I used, it was intended for scraping/scrubbing wood trim when using a chemical pant remover. The bristles are a bit rough, but with a light touch, it works ok. (This is how it looked after cleaning the seats, before I washed it out)

I think the idea brush would be something like this:

It's a manicure brush, I found at This Site

I am not receivng e-mail notifications from MOL and other message boards, either. I think the problem has to do with spam filtering software. The software has stopped me receiving e-mail I want and lets plenty of SPAM end up in my inbox. Only well, technology is great.

The manicure brush looks similar to the finger nail brush I use.

Do you have any pictures of the seat after becleaned and conditioned?

I didn't take any full 'after' pics because compared to the dramatic difference between the B&A cleaning pics, there wasn't much contrast between the ' before & after conditioning' finish.

I found that using a brush may cause the gel to kindof spray onto side panels and other parts of the interior and so I found that applying with an ultimate wipe worked just as well cleaning wise, took less time, and just use a soft bristle toothbrush to get in between the cracks.
