I'm attempting to repair a moderate depth scratch, and I started out with wet sanding after a thorough cleaning/clay, IPA wipedown. With a DA I compounded and polished the area after and this is what we look like. Have I gone too far through the clear coat below the scratch? I have an OEM paint correction pen for the scratch since it's fairly deep. I filled in the scratch with paint and clear coat since taking this picture, but I haven't done anything more with the faded area below the scratch yet, nor have I polished the new paint yet. What to do?

Re: Have I Wet Sanded Too Far?
It appears so. I'm assuming you tried to wipe off the blotch area below the scratch? Regarding what needs to be done with a sand through / burn through, needs to be repainted. Whether that is stripping whole panel, or a shop performing a blend within the panel.Nick Winn
