I have seen here at the forum somewhere, a link to a paint touchup kit product called (if I recall correctly) Doctor Chip. Give them your make and model and year and color, and they will sell you a kit that includes a little nail-polish size bottle of paint, an applicator, a pad or cloth, and a small amount of some sort of solvent or wipe that is used to clean after the application so the paint remains in the void only and not on the adjacent surface.
I want to try this to repair chip voids in my black '01 summer-use-only Porsche.
It is likely best to clean the areas to be treated so as to remove all wax and film and polish and contaminants before doing the application. What is recommended? Regular wash products may not be aggressive for getting wax and polish off.
