  • Looking for an air powered wet sander. Which one to get? Why?

    Hi all,

I want to get an air powered wet sander to color sand my car that I am painting. I have so far narrowed it down to two different types.

    1. A Hutchinson brand one http://www.hutchinsmfg.com/content/waterb.html
    2. Quick cut brand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SugI...layer_embedded

Has anyone had any experience with either of the two?

We use the 3M 6" diameter, 3/16" orbit, air sanders here at work. If you use our Unigrit sanding and finishing discs and interface pad, you don't need all that water feed equipment since these are a damp sanding process rather than full wet sanding. It's cleaner, uses less equipment, and the quality of the abrasive media is such that you get very uniform, predictable sanding marks that are very easy to buff out after the fact.
