  • Need help getting glossy finish on car

I just got my first car just a few weeks ago. I have been working on the body paint of the car due to damage, however I am having problems getting the very glossy clearcoat that I would like on the car. I have wet sanded with 1500 grit sandpaper, sprayed with a supposedly glossy auto spray paint and wet sanded again. But still I can't seem to get the glossy finish. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me? I have a decal coming in next week, and would like to get the body finished before the decal comes in. Here are a couple pictures of the car.

What are you using to remove your sanding marks?

      Just some polishing compound.

After wetsanding you should be using a rubbing compound before using polishing compound. Trying to get rid of the sanding marks with polishing compound alone will take a lot of extra work. Are you using a buffer or doing it by hand? I strongly recommend using either a DA (dual action) buffer or orbital buffer or else you might only be able to do one panel a day by hand and your shoulders will be very sore after just one panel, even half a panel.
