  • Oxidation Help

The back of my boat was oxidized pretty badly. I stripped the stickers off, removed the hardware and began by trying 91 with limited results. I then started to wetsand the effected areas followed by 91 with W-7006, followed by 45 with W-8006 and then 56 with W-9006 on a PC. Below are the before pictures.

You can't really do this kind of work with a tool that has a clutch and the pad will stop rotating if you apply too much pressure.

You need to finish sand with #2000 grit or higher and then use a rotary buffer with a wool cutting pad.

If you don't have a rotary buffer you can usually rent one from a tool rental place or buy a cheapie one from Harbor Freight.

That will enable you to tackle this kind of project.
