Product recommendations to use on this boat

So my friend wants to polish out his boat Thursday and I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best approach for him. It only has some light oxidation and I was able to make a noticeable improvement using M49 by hand in a small spot last year. He only has 4-6 hours to polish it and will be using a PC 7424 with W-8006/W-9006 pads.

I was thinking M49 followed by the Flagship Premium Marine Wax since he has both. I don't think there will be time for M45.

The boat is a 2000 Malibu pictured below...sorry, only pic he had.

If you've tested the M49 and it's working good then... by all means use what you have...

Another option for light oxidation is M44 or even M50

I do have M44 and was going to try that out as well. He's never used the PC before so I figured I'd swing by and get him going. Does the FlagShip wax or any of the polishes listed above have a LOT of polishing oils in them? (Similar to M80 but in Marine)

I thought M44 did, as for the rest I would have to check with Mike or R&D

Modern gel-coats and marine paints are changing like automotive paints are always changing and Meguiar's' is alway keeping up with changes with new products and updates to established formulas so I would have to check.

Two points...

One you already touched on and that was the idea to follow the cleaning step with M45 polish so that even if your choice of compound doesn't contain a heavy concentration of polishing oils the M45 will get the job done in the next step. If you don't have the time or ability to do a dedicated pure polishing step then it becomes an issue. You could always try some M80 Speed Glaze and see how that works. We try to keep everyone using products from the correct line for the project they're working on but in the Marine Line there's not really a product like the M80 Speed Glaze and it's a very versatile product.

The other thing is to remember to test out a W-7006 foam cutting pad. At this time, Meguiar's doesn't recommend using our cutting pads with DA Polishers on clear coat paint systems but it's okay to use them on gel-coat finishes and gel-coats finishes tend to be a lot more forgiving when it comes to getting aggressive with them. Do test this pad out for your compounding/cleaning step as the extra aggressiveness in the foam should cut out the oxidation pretty effectively.

Hey Mike. M49 with a W8006 turned out to be the best combo. M44 was working but was still leaving the finish a little hazy.

I actually ended up working on it with him for about 3 hours and was able to get about 75% of the black done before I had to leave. He was very impressed with the results and by the time I left seemed to have a good hang of the PC. I left my PC behind and showed his roommate how to use it as well, so he also helped out.

The owners camera had gotten wet and wasn't working properly. I snapped a picture with my phone but the quality is very poor. He was going to have someone bring a camera over an take finished pics so I should have some next week.
