  • Help selecting car panel to practice rotary?

I need to pick up a panel to practice my rotary techniques. I was thinking it would be great to also use it to show customers before and after work. It would be great having a Corvette hood hanging but then I realized how expensive/large it could be. What panel do you suggest getting to practice on and how much should I expect to pay?

My choice would be a fender. Find a nice CURVY one that will reflect light from many angles. The curves are also more challenging to buff with a rotary and will hone your skills even more. Oh yeah, make sure it's a nice dark color too.

Get whatever you can. It was important forme to get something with a dark color (black being best) and with factory original paint on it.

I picked this hood up at a bodyshop for free --
