Can I prime pad w/h20?

Hi guys,

Can I prime the pad with water instead of QD or other lubes? I know water dont have much of the glide feeling as QD does. But, I just wonder if this do-able?

Yes and no.

Depends on what pad you're priming the pad for? If you're going to start out with a brand new, dry pad and use a compound, paint cleaner, or cleaner polish then this is okay.

Once your pad is broken-in, (moistened from product use), then you shouldn't need to prime your pad again.

If you're going to apply a pure polish or a wax, then there is no need to prime the pad and Meguiar's wouldn't recommend it.

Well, I'm doing this 2002 Lincoln LSC. Its a grey color and it has some nasty swirls and some paint defects. I normally primed with Meg QD at the initial step(dry pad) and I clean my pad or wool pad one or two panels.
Oh how can I prevent from my rotary from hopping?
