I always hear PROs talking rotary over DA with finishing polish. I did a comparison with both machines and m205. I really dont/cant see the difference between two. Am i lying to myself that rotary deliver a better quality in finishing? Or should i just give up rotary and go da all the way?

Re: Finish quality between DA and rotary
It comes to a personal preference. Of course rotary buffers break abrasives much faster than D/A polishers and cut defects with higher speeds as well.
As for polishing or final polishing step (jeweling) on some paints (dark colored, delicate) it's going to be challenging to finish swirl/ hologram free with circular polishers. For that reason many detailers always finish with D/A polishers.
Some paints respond really well to rotary buffer treatment. My Deep Sea Blue Metallic loves it:

Re: Finish quality between DA and rotary
As with anything else in this game, the paint will play a big role in determining what works best. Some softer paints will show a bit of DA haze, but some operators struggle to finish hologram free with a rotary, especially on very soft paint. If you're not able to tell any real difference between the two processes, and you're not seeing anything negative with either, then it really is a toss up as to which one to go with. But we would never lock into any one set process for all cars - some paints just like one over the other for absolute maximum result.Michael Stoops
