Whats the technical name for...

I have a generic rotary buffer. The spindle is 5/8" and it came with a 7" disc.

Thats too large and now I want a 6" disc so I can use my 7" foam pad without worrying about hitting the paint with the edge of the disc.

Now, where do I get the 6" disc and whats it called? Ha, sorry for having to dumb this down. I just dont know what the part is called!

Make sure you get a backing plate that matches the pads you are using ! =)
