  • makita's which is everyone talking about?

I searched Amazon and eBay and found 8+ versions from $89 to $220. Which is the proper tool used here for sanding repair etc?

I believe it's the 9227C, I'm looking at this one for when I'm ready to step up to the rotary.

Ah ok it's 210 on eBay and 186 on amazon. Now I don't know what accessories I need to buy with it. What's a ba king plate etc? I figure I'd buy two of each type pad.

A backing plate is what you attach your pads to. There are several different sizes. 2 each of each pad is a great start

Our W68 backing plate (not the W68DA, just the W68) will fit the Makita and is perfect for use with our Soft Buff 2.0 pads - W7207 foam cutting, W8207 foam polishing and W9207 foam finishing. It can also be used with the W4000 wool pad.

Yes, you can. I have the 9227c buffer and the backing plate that came with it. Lake Country sells pads that fit nicely.
