  • holograms question

on a brand new wool pad is it more common to get holograms until the pad has more product saturated on it?

do you guys spray the wool pads with M34 when their new?

    Re: holograms question

Just mist the pad with M34.
The idea of it is not having a dry pad to come in contact with the paint when picking up your strip/bead of product for the first time.

      Re: holograms question

Wool pads do vary quite a bit, as you might imagine, so the amount of holograms created is going to be dependent on the pad itself and the skill of the user. Of course that other constant variable is in play here too - the paint. You can use a wool pad with baby oil (no cut, lots of lubricant) and still inflict holograms in the paint.

Meguiar's W5000 Double Sided Wool pad might be our strongest cutting pad, but when used with M105 by a skilled operator it's astonishing how few holograms it inflicts.

        Re: holograms question

you can get zero holograms and flawless finish with wool pads
just have the spend the extra time to jewel the polish down and not buff at one speed and stop as soon as the abrasive has broken down like so many people do.
Not used Megs products in decades so not sure how they react
