  • Makita making noises

My Makita sounds like it has rocks in it at low RPMs. Anyone heard this before? It just started doing it. I have this bad feeling there is maintenance that should have been done with this thing and I never did anything with it since I hardly ever use it.

Not cool when I'm wrapping up a wet sand, compound and polish session!!!

Not sure, but you might want to take it to an authorized service center before it really breaks.

I tried searching for a thread that Mike Phillips had on his Makita, I think it had something to do with a bearing in the head unit....Not sure....

Best bet is to take it to a service center and get it checked out and might as well have it serviced too (brushes cleaning etc)

they will do that if you use heavy pressure on some paints, when working with sticky paints or if the polish (non megs) has run out of lubrication and your dry buffing
if it does it all the time then yes there is an issue.
