  • should I buy or not?

Ok well I went to get the swirls out of my paint. I tried swirlX by hand with no results. So then I was thinking I need a machine. Should I by a cheap rotary or not? I do want the car too look good and I have an old hood to practice on before I do my car. I am just scared to use one and mess up my car. My dad told me not to use one because no one now days uses them because they are junk and burn the paint.

So should I buy one and practice or should I wait until next year and get a DA? Or buy a rotary now and get a DA later.

    Thanks.

Get used to using a machine by getting a DA first. There's less risk of burning paint and you can more than likely take care of your swirls with a G110. If you find that you need more and gain enough experience with it, buy a rotary.

Rotaries take care of imperfections in less time and when used by a trained professional can turn out work that DA's sometimes cannot; but you don't want to jump the gun and put yourself in the "professional" category too quick and end up burning your paint.

If I get a DA thats all I am going to do but so far the cheapest DA I could find was 130$ while I can get a rotary for 30$.

I have 30$ to use at a Lowes store so I was thinking of getting a rotary and practicing on an old hood.

Does anyone know of any better prices for DA's?

      Thanks

I would learn how to use a D.A such as a G110 before purchasing a rotary. Even if after you completed any rotary work you will most likely have to finish out with the D.A

If I got a DA would I have any need for a rotary? I might look into buying a used DA.

It depends on what your doing and what your trying to accomplish. For very hard paints that are hard to remove defects from, then a rotary may be necessary. But you can do a lot of correction with the D.A.

The D.A such as the G110 has gotten even more powerful with the new M105 D.A approved formula

But a D.A can do amazing things. I would look into purchasing a rotary after you get used to using the G110.

If your going to buy a used D.A then the G-100 would be something to look into.
