There's a place called Medley not too far from me that has like 5 or 6 junkyards back-to-back down a street. Took $100 cash with me and went looking. Found two hoods (one Honda Civic and one Toyota Camry) from the mid-90's models and offered up the cash. I put a wanted ad up on Craigslist. It took a while, but eventually found one. The other came from eBay. If you search for the items closest to your location, you can usually get some decent buys.Chris

Two were five bucks but the Mercedes hood was 25$
Some from junk yards and the Mercedes from a paint shop. I wanted the new Mercedes hood to experience their super hard ceramic clear coat. Well worth the cost to keep from destroying some friends hood due to inexperience.Comment

Most body repair shops will gladly give you sheet metal to keep from paying to have it hauled off. Won't hurt to take the boys in the shop a pizza or a six pack once in a while to show your thanks.

Just picked up a few items from the local bodyshop... all for free.
Hood from a 2003 Ford Winstar.
Nissan/Infiniti/Mecury hood that once covered a VG33E engine from a Pathfinder, Frontier, Xterra, Elgrand, Quest, Paladin, QX4, or Villager.
Door panel from a Honda.
Looking forward to try my RB on paint.Comment
