  • Is it a pad centering issue?

I have benn using the porter cable with meguiars polishing pad and M83 & M80 for taking care of my black audi. A month ago I decided to jump to the rotary, looking to achieve "showroom" results.

I keep using M83 & M80 with the polishing pad and M80 with the finishing pad, but only thing I am achieving are SWIRLS!!

Even I try to center the pad, looks like it's not perfectly centered, so before changing to M105 & M205 Combo, I need your help to know if the swirls can be the result of a non 100% centered pad.

    I tried at 1800, 1400 and 1000 RPM

    Any advice on this?

    Thanks!

Rotary is a tough cookie to achive absolute perfection. Many of us have spent years trying to perfect our ability to finish a vehicle with a rotary buffer. Depending on the type of paint you're working on, 80 could be entirely too abrasive to give you the finish you're looking for. M205 is quite a bit easier and better at giving showroom results. I do not think this is a pad centering issue.

I would suggest trying the M205 and see how things work for you there. I believe you will achive much greater results with this product.
