i am a beginner with rotary , but i finish my first car , an suv pretty good in paint correction (see my pic albums). i remove bad scratches , dog scratches , 2000grit sand, swirl marks without damage the paint in anyway. i do not have a gauge for paint. but i do have 105 , 83 , 80 and all 3 foam pads in different quantity. the car: an old 86 corvette , black full of swirlmarks and oxidation all over. but.. on roof by the trim i can see the clear coat start unpeal , i was wonder if i should give it a try ? or not , at leas a test spot with finish pad and 80? the car has potetntial before /after if i do it right, would be a good project for website pictures and feedback. the owner agree to go and practice on it he try different types of restoration(wax i guess) and faild, the car is bad oxidise, i may shoot some pic to give u an ideea. the car was a race car before and i suspect that was buff and i am afraid the clear coat is to thin.. and don`t want to mess it up in case it fail after few mo since i finish it .....
i am looking for an opinion , i should do it or just let it go...also i don`t charge the guy all he has to buy is clay bar, wax and seal and maybe blue tape, everything is left over is mine.

You can see the clear coat is starting to peel? without a picture it is hard to say for sure but I imagine the car is going to need to be repainted. What kind of equipment is at your disposal? Random Orbital Buffer, High Speed Buffer? Products?

      have g110 and makita , products 105/swirlx/83/80/205
but the car was a previous race car and i assume was buff before, the clear is pealing on roof at the edge with trim, NOPE i will not do this car , i give up already , better stay away of trouble than run into.
an 83 with g110 will be a good tickle . the car is trash, has potential for a good project , i may think about after i get a paint gauge.

        Try the G110 with 105.
I did on an '89 Corvette, and it worked great!!
Except it did gum up, and was hard to wipe off.
So if you do work on it, about a 10in. by 10in area and about 3 passes, then reapply product and wipe off.
