  • Pad Selection

I have searched and been unable to find my answer so I apologize ahead of time for the repeat question.

Is there a list of Pad Cutting Grades? (hope I'm asking correctly)

What I am looking for is a list of pads to use with for example 105, ultimate compound etc. Is it is as simple as color choice for different cutting abilities?

    Thanks!!

    Re: Pad Selection

Meguiar's offers three levels of pad aggressiveness for FOAM pads [not counting wool]: (From least to most aggressive)

1.) Finishing Pad (New pads are black part numbers , old pads were a light tan. It is known as the SoftBuff 2.0 finishing pad, Item # W9207)

2.) Polishing Pad (Yellow pad, medium aggressive nature, can be used with virtually all polishes or compounds, known as the Softbuff 2.0 Polishing Pad, Item # W8207)

3.) Cutting Pad (Maroon pad, very aggressive, but less than wool. Not recommended for DA polisher use, only rotary. Known as Softbuff 2.0 Cutting pad, Item # W7207)

    Hope this helps.

      Re: Pad Selection

Also, the W4000 Wool pad and the newer double sided W5000 wool pad.

Remember to do a test spot with least aggressive product, pad combo.
