Have used a orbital buffer before-looking to get rotary for my 99 Mercedes. Any thoughts on Vector model-not looking to spend much considering its only for my car. Also, can I use the rotary for cleaning, polishing, and waxing or is it better to use orbital for waxing and 2nd coat of swirl remover. thanks for your input.

When doing a search for an image of this tool we found them for sale at Costco $60.00

They have a great return policy so if you buy it from them and it burns out before a year goes by you can always return it hassle-free.

Re: Pep boy sells Vector Rotary Buffer
Thanks Mike! I have a 99 MB 300 TD with moderate swirls, scratches, etchings, ect. I will read all the threads on using a rotary buffer, and eliminating swirls/holograms ect. I also will stop by a local body shop to get some pointers on using a rotary buffer too. Hows this: 1) wash 2) clay 3) Fine-cut cleaner-rotary buffer, 4) swirl remover 2.0-rotary buffer 5) swirl remover 2.0-orbital buffer,(is this step necessary) 6) NXT wax-rotary or orbital-which one? Any recommendations, is this o'kay? thanks for your input!

Re: Pep boy sells Vector Rotary Buffer
Here's the order using what you listed...
1) wash
2) clay
3) #2 Fine-cut cleaner with Rotary Buffer - W-8006 or W-8000 foam polishing pad
4) #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 with Rotary Buffer with W-9006 or W-9000 foam finishing pad
5) Orbital buffer with NXT wax
Try doing the entire process to just one panel to start with, like the hood. After you do the entire process, all the way to wax, on the entire hood you might want to take a break for a while or a week and then tackle another panel another day. Don't over do it as it's a lot of work to do steps 3, 4 and 5 just to the hood.
Best of luck, remember to clean your pad often for all steps.

Re: Pep boy sells Vector Rotary Buffer
Mike,
You might want to add this Sears Traditional Orbital to your collection of examples-- http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...bital+polisher
It is rated at 1.0 AMPS while most of the others on the market are just .5 AMP. It has a nice solid feel to it--much more solid than the others I have seen. In the store I had a chance to plug it in and run it on some metal shelving--put some pressure on it and it didn't seem to bog down. I'll be giving this a try next month and will report the results.

If I'm not mistaken, it has the same threads as a backing plate for the PC
Check it out if you get one. I almost bought one until I received my G100

I have this buffer. Got it at autozone for 54.99 2 years agoI'm sure it's not near the quality of a dewalt or makita, but it's worked well for me so far!

Shop Sears for appliances, tools, clothing, mattresses & more. Great name brands like Kenmore, Craftsman Tools, Serta, Diehard and many others.
