what size backing pad to use ?

i just finally got my makita 9227 and i cant wait to start using it. is it possible to use my pc 6.5 inch pads with the backing pad that came with the makita?
which backing pad should i purchse if i want to run 6.5 inch pads?

yes you can use W7006/8006/9006 pads with 9227c but first you need to get Meguiars W64 backing plate

i put the 6.5 pad to the stock backing pad and it fits perfectly even though it is a 7 inch backing pad can i just use that for now?

Its not advisable to do that as your backing plate's velcro interface should not be larger than the pad's velcro
