  • Machine getting away from me ?!!!!!

Hi, used a polishing machine for the first time today and of course I started on a rotary! Practised on an old door and I enjoyed using it and am looking forward to learning more. Thanks to everyone on this website who has posted advice on there own experiences using the rotary because without ye I would have never got the confidence to try machine polishing.

I got on pretty well, all things considered. Sorry ive no pictures.
Even managed to scrub part of the door with a pot brush and got most of the swirls out afterwards which I was very happy with. Smell that comes off the hot door is a bit strange though and I wasnt expecting that!!

Question I have is what the best way to keep control of the machine when it is spinning on the surface?
Basic question I know but I found the pad gripping and going out of control a few times.

I was using #85 with W7000, #80 with W8000 then applied #26 by hand and buffed off with a bonnet on a W8000.
Sorry again I dont have any pics. I'll try again on another door tomorrow and put some pics up.

Usually if the pad is bouncing around, you have got too much product on the pad.
