Well just placed an order through coastal tool for a makita 9227 rotary. I hope I like this thing as much as the g-100. I am going monday to have a local supplier order me a 6.5inc backing plate cause i am not to sure of the stuff that comes with it.

I am looking forward to this especially since i wont have to work the polishes as long as i do with the pc that gets a little tiring.

I have a 86 ford 150 to practice on (hope I dont mess it up) I believe by taping off and keeping speed around 1200 i should be ok just making sure not to keep pad in one place to long or let it go dry. If anyone can point out some tips for this buffer 9227 i'd appreciate it thanks alot. Greg

advice.. practice..practice...practice. Here is a link to Meguiar's power polishing video that can be viewed on line http://www.meguiars.com/video/

This should give you valuble information about things to keep in mind when buffing a car. Then it is just a matter of finding a good test panel and buffing away!!!!! Using the correct products and pads is key to the success of buffing.

    Good luck,

    Tom

      Congrats on the new rotary!!

Did anyone mention that you need to practice with it!

The usual 9227C comes with a Makita backing plate for the 8" pads. However, it is best to start out with the 6.5" pads and the Meg's 6.5" backing plate. In fact, you may never need the 8"!

You will love using the rotary!
