Speed Glaze #80 and Sonus SFX-2

Hi All

I'm picking up my new PC on Wednesday and the dealer is a Sonus reseller. I'm keen to use all the professional Meguires products (have most of the retail line) and already have a couple of details lined up for next weekend.

I have a question though. One of the products I was after was #80 Speed Glaze (after seeing what Mike achieved on the F355 last year) can anyone tell me how this differs (is better of worse) to Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Polish both descriptions appear to be the same?

I've used both, and both produce excellent results when used properly.

#80 provides some protection for new paint jobs, the Sonus does not.

As far as is one easier to use, I dunno, it's hard to say. They both work pretty well. It's easier to say that success with one doesn't invalidate the quality of the other.

My general rule when considering switching products is, did the brand I'm using now ever let me down? If the answer is yes, then the next time I purchase, I'll consider switching. If the answer is no, then I stick with the product that took me to where I am today.

I've recently used both and my experience with the #80 was far, far better than with the Sonus products. I had a huge dusting problem with the Sonus line and found I could work #80 for a much longer time. #80 was also far easier to remove as I had to use a QD to help get the Sonus off the paint.

In all fairness, I was using the version of the Sonus FX line that has recently been updated and my technique has improved dramatically since then - thanks to Mike Phillips and Meguiar's Detail Days!! This goes right to what Mosca said about success with one not invalidating the other, but in the hands of this admitted novice, #80 was just easier to use and gave better results.

Obviously a lot of people have had good success with Sonus FX, but I'm hooked on Meguiar's now.
