  • G100 warranty

    Does the G100 still come with a lifetime warranty? If so, what is covered undert he warranty? Would the G100 have to purchased through Meguiar's to be covered or may the G100 be purchased through a Meguiars vendor and covered under the warranty?

    I believe as long as its a G-100 porter cable (has the meguiar's logo on it) you retain the warranty.

          Good to know that wherever I purchase the G100 I will receive the warranty.

          What is covered by the warranty?

              Thanks for the info everbody.

              I guess I need to be more specific as to what I want to know. Manufacturers defects? Wear and tear? Cosmetic damage caused be using G100? Damage due to lack of maintenance or using the G100 for unintended purposes?

                if your really worried i would call customer care and ask them about the warranty....i would assume normal wear and tear and manufacturer defects as long as you dont intentionally try to damage it or misuse it... there are ways to find out......but one i have heard some folks say they have not done anything as far as maintaince goes and its still as strong when it was new and i also hear that its rare for it to fail (not work)...cosemetic probably not covered....but then again like i said call customer service or where ever you purchase you g100

                  I called customer service before starting this topic. I was told the covers everything and the warranty only cover manufactures defects. I posted here hoping to obtain specific information about the G100 warranty. I looking for information on the G100 warranty, because my current PC is starting to fall apart and needs servicing which will cost about as much as new PC after parts, labor and tax.

                    Hi all,

                    Just a follow up, this is what Tim Larson at Meguiar's customer services said in response to an email I sent: -

                    "The Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher is a much stronger and faster machine than an orbital machine. It is capable of up to 6000 OPMs. The name Dual Action comes from the fact that it will oscillate and rotate at the same time. Due to this "dual action" the machine does not create any heat, nor can it damage a painted surface and is completely user friendly. It is an excellent machine for both the seasoned veteran and a new enthusiast. This machine helps to increase your cleaning capabilities and add more depth and gloss to the paint. I personally own one and I love it. I highly recommend you give it a try. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee as well as a lifetime warranty on the machine. We offer the machine by itself and a polishing pad for 225.95. The machine is made by Porter Cable and is based off their model #7335. This means that the machine is more like the sander with a 6 in backing plate on it."

                    Thanks
                    Bryan

                        If I remember correctly, Mike P. said that the G100 comes with a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty.

                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                        I bought mine from Meguiars back in June of 1999..........The box says "Meguiar's G100" on it, but the buffer itself says "Porter Cable" on the side.
                        Porter Cable must have goofed when applying the name plates.....I hope that's not an issue if I need to return it to Meguiars for warranty work.
                              Hmm.
                              Does that mean I could replace the pads with a sanding disc and refinish furniture?
