I just bought this polisher trying to figure out which pads I need for what I need to do. I have a 2023 Tesla pearl white, which has multiple coats. I guess they’re known to have thin paint.
I don’t need to do any paint correction. Perhaps I could use this to remove fine Scratches if there are any, and clean up the surface, removing asphalt pieces or tar. Pads that are full proof perhaps?
    what are my options?

It might be best to remove the bug and tar patches before washing. Using a mechanical rotating device will likely catch the tar and particles trapped in the tar and create scatches when polishing.

Take a look at Meguiar's Bug and Tar Remover.

The Makita XOP02T is a great choice! For a Tesla with thin paint, you'll want to stick to softer pads to avoid any risk of cutting into the clear coat. Since you're looking to remove fine scratches and clean up surface contaminants, I'd recommend a light polishing pad, like a foam finishing pad, paired with a mild polish or all-in-one cleaner. For things like tar and asphalt, using a clay bar first will help loosen them up before polishing, and it's gentler on the paint. This way, you can keep the surface looking fresh without being too aggressive.
