  • Waxing W/ the G100

I am sure that this is been covered before. I did search through archive and could dnot find anything as specific as I was looking for.

I have a G100 that I would like to use for wax application and removal. I have normal always done this by hand. When I was at the detail clinic with Bimmer Forums Mike told me how much faster it was to use the DA and how you get a better shine at the end.

So I am looking for a proceedure of how to apply and remove wax with the DA.

I tried to do it the other day and it took me about the same time as hand waxing so I think my technique is not correct.

I use speed 3 to apply and 5 to remove. I an using a finishing pad for application and a foam pad with a microfiber bonnet to remove.

All in all to wash and wax it took me about an hour and half which is about the same amount of time it takes me to hand wax. I really did not see a difference in out come of the DA vs. Hand, but the car I was doing was in really good condition.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Chad

    Hi ZeroG,

When I apply wax with the G100, I try not to spend much time buffing it in, and I move as fast as I can, but not so fast that the buffer pad drags across the surface.

With that said, if you are waxing a tall vehicle that causes you to move a ladder or stool around, then it can take extra time to also move the buffer, power cord, and product with you, as you go.
